Cobblestone Paver Patio Construction: 3 Tips Cobblestone Paver Patio Construction: 3 Tips
Cobble paver patio construction may sound like a lot of hard work, but it is not really a difficult task to do. In fact, with the right tools and materials, you can construct your own cobblestone paver patio on you own without much difficulty. To help you construct such a patio, here are some tips.
Set the Right Foundation
To construct a cobblestone paver patio like a pro, you need to dig out about 1 inch of dirt on below the patio location and remover hard objects on the surface to create a strong and even foundation.
Establish Weed Barrier
To prevent weeds from causing damage on your cobblestone paver, install weed barriers at the sides and below. You may use barrier cloth for this purpose, then cover the cloth with sand to create a more stable foundation. Make sure that the sand is evenly distributed throughout the foundation.
Use Rubber Mallet
When installing your cobblestone, use a rubber mallet instead of a hammer to pack the cobblestone into the base sand. Although cobblestone is durable, it may chip or crack if you use a metal hammer to compress it into place. When using the rubber mallet on the cobblestone, try not to apply too much force or you still may end up damaging the cobblestones.
