If you are creating a resume, be sure to include a cover letter when you submit it. The first thing the employer will notice is the cover letter, this may help to get your resume looked at first.
What are Cover Letters?
Cover letters are used to insert a quick bit of information about yourself and why you would be an asset to the company for which you are applying. You can open with something about yourself, give a history of your previous experience, this should be short. The cover letter is an introduction to your resume, there is no need to repeat the same information in your cover letters.
Cover letters are to be very professional looking and be relevant to the job. If you are applying for a position with the technical team, this should be noted in the cover letters. You can simply say, ‘I am a team player who would love to work for your company’s technical department’. You could then add some information as to why you think you would be the best candidate. Keep your cover letters short and to the point.
