Create Your Own Paintball Gun Rack
Having a gun rack at home is one of the most convenient ways of putting your paintball gun in a safe place. Aside from arranging these toys in order, you can make sure that children would not be able to play with it, preventing some unwanted accidents at home. One of the most common problems of paintball hobbyists is that they do not have a place to keep their toys safe. If you are one of them, you do not need to buy expensive racks. You can do this on your own with a few dollars and the right procedure.
Step 1: Making the Base
The first thing you need to do is to make the base of your gun rack. For this, you need to place two pieces of planks on the floor, and you have to make sure that they are placed parallel with each other. Get some measuring tape and allow at least 10 inches of space between the two planks. After doing this, get the other remaining planks and place them across the other two you laid first on the floor. You will now see that you have made a square out of these four planks. Stick them together firmly with wood glue. After putting the planks together, you should have a base that has approximately a 17x10 inch width.
Step 2: Measuring Proportions
After everything is glued together, use the nail and the hammer to secure the frame you just have made. This should look like a rectangle, with the two planks that are vertical on top of the other two planks. After you are done securing the frame, nail them to your wall. You should be able to see that the planks underneath will have raised the other two planks on the top with at least four inches. This space will serve as the catch for the paintball guns to prevent them from falling off when you place them in the rack.
Step 3: Carving and Cutting
After the frame is secured on your wall, get your jigsaw and pencil. Draw one inch rectangles with proportionate distances from each other. These rectangles you will make should be a couple of inches deep in order for the notches you make to hold the gun barrels. After you have done this, on the other side of the frame, make rectangles with 4 inches height. These rectangles should be an inch deeper (3 inches) from the first rectangle you made on the opposite side. This will hold the gun barrel. Once you are through, try hanging in one of your guns to make sure they fit the holes you carved. You can make minor adjustments to ensure your toys do not fall off when the measurements are not accurate.
