Black vinyl tile may be suitable for your floors in your kitchen or hallways. When installing the black vinyl tile, you may need to cut the tiles according to the layout of the space. Vinyl tiles are not difficult to cut and you won’t need an electric saw.
Tools and Materials Needed:
- Vinyl cutter
- Tape measure
- Piece of white chalk
Step 1 – Get a Vinyl Cutter
The only tool you need to cut black vinyl tile is a vinyl cutter, which is an inexpensive tool you can find in most hardware stores. Choose a cutter that has an appropriate size. Smaller cutters are suitable for cutting smaller vinyl tiles.
Step 2 – Measure the Space and Tiles
Measure the space where the black vinyl tiles will be installed and establish how many tiles fit in the space and how much you need to cut from the corner and edge tiles. Mark the tiles that need to be cut with a piece of white chalk. Draw a straight line on each tile that needs to be cut.
Step 3 – Cut the Tile
Cut a tile at a time. Hold the tile with your left hand and with your right hand, cut the tiles using the vinyl cutter. Try cutting the tile following the lines marked in Step 2.
