DIY Tabletop S'mores Trick

One of the best tastes of summer is the iconic s’more. That toasted marshmallow, melty chocolate, and crisp graham cracker combination are just tough to beat! Thanks to DIY innovations, you no longer need a fire to make these treats. In fact, you can make them on top of your table, making it easier than ever to make s’mores this summer with your whole family!

Creating Your Personal S’mores Pot

Making your own s’mores pot is easy, thanks to terracotta pots and a few other simple materials. Follow the DIY instructions below for creating your own, and you can make s’more easily time and time again this summer without going through the hassle of setting up a big fire.

Gather Your Materials

You’ll need a few materials for your s’mores pot. A four-inch (or similarly sized) unglazed terracotta pot works best for this project. If you’re going to have multiple people making s’mores, you’ll want to get a few of these so that each person can have their own pot.

You may want to paint your pots to make them more festive. If so, use patio paint and a paintbrush. You’ll also need foil, charcoal (or Sterno), and roasting skewers. You’ll also need a lighter or matches. Of course, you’ll also need your s’mores materials to test out your finished product: marshmallows, graham crackers, and chocolate bars.

Paint the Pot

If so desired, paint your pots before putting them to use to make s’mores. Give them a festive design, or treat them with chalkboard paint so you can draw on them whenever you like. This is your chance to get creative! Paint the pots and let them dry overnight for best results.

Line the Pot

Now, line your pot with foil on the bottom. You can trace the circle from the bottom of your pot onto a piece of foil and cut it, placing it at the bottom of each pot.

Fill Pot with Charcoal

Now, fill the pot with charcoal. You can also use Sterno if you’d prefer, as it will yield the same results.

Light Charcoal

Now, use a lighter or match to light the charcoal (or Sterno). This will create a small flame that is just large enough to create your s’more.

Roast Your Marshmallow

Now, use your skewer and roast your marshmallows over the flame. Make sure that any kiddos enjoying this DIY project are supervised around the fire. Once your marshmallow is roasted to perfection, create your mouth-watering s’more and indulge.

Put Out the Fire

Make sure to put the fire out once you’re done making s’mores using water. Once the charcoal is cool, you can either dispose of it or save it for another use the next time you want to make a s’more, which is the beauty of this craft—you can use it all summer long to aid in creating countless s’mores.
