Do I need to strip my wall surface before applying faux stucco? Do I need to strip my wall surface before applying faux stucco?

Before applying faux stucco, ensure you prepare the wall well. Strip off any old wallpaper that you might have on the wall, and then rub and wipe the wall to have a clean surface. You can also apply a stain blocking material or primer on the entire wall surface before applying faux stucco. This would create a better finish by allowing the stucco to coat the wall firmly and evenly. Remember to use painter’s tape on switches and other surfaces that you do not want the stucco on, and put drop cloth on floors and other surfaces to ease cleaning up after you are done.
