Does Ionized Water Have Antioxidants? Does Ionized Water Have Antioxidants?

Many people are in search for the best water ionizer due to the benefits of ionized water. These people are actually in search of a good source of antioxidants. Antioxidants are found in fruits, vegetables, nuts, grains and protein-enriched foods such as meats, poultry and fish. Though there are many sources for this, there are only so much of these food sources a person can eat or drink. Ionized water, on the other hand, can easily be consumed and obtained in huge amounts, everyday, using just normal tap water and using the water ionizer.

Nature’s Antioxidant

Ionized water is considered as a powerful and natural antioxidant. Ionized water’s capability of carrying oxygen with an extra electron attached to it allows it to have hydroxyl ions. Hydroxyl ions neutralize free radicals. Free radicals are the cause of cell damage, premature ageing and disease.

Oxidation-Reduction Potential (ORP)

Oxidation-Reduction Potential or ORP determine the level by which oxygen is depleted. Bottled water or regular city water has a high positive ORP which creates oxidation and speeds up the aging process of humans. Ionized water, on the other hand, has a negative ORP and with the hydroxyl ions it contains, helps the body produce oxygen. This increase the body’s energy level, corrects the body's acid or alkaline balance, neutralizes harmful free radicals, and hydrates cells. In totality, ionized water has antioxidants which reduce the signs of aging!
