Does Water Affect Boat Window Tint? Does Water Affect Boat Window Tint?

If you have just gotten your boat windows tinted, you are probably concerned about how the water from a salt water environment or water from a fresh water environment will affect boat window tint. Your concern is legitimate because the darkness of your tint will depend on whether you fish more on salt water and more in the day or night and the same applies to fresh water fishing. Here are some rules that will help you make a decision.

Salt Water Environment

If you are spending most of your time in salt water in the day time, a medium to dark tint will do you fine. Darker will be better as the sun is more intense. On the other hand, if you spend more time on the water at night, a medium tint will do. Ensure that your tint protects against UV rays.

Fresh Water Environment

If you spend more time on fresh water with your boat during the day time, a medium to dark tint for your boat windows will work fine. If most of your time is spent at night on your boat, a light to medium tint is sufficient. Just as with saltwater day time, you want a tint that protects against UV rays.
