There are several eco-friendly ways to deodorize your kitchen sink drain. Everyday household products work well and are safe for the environment.
Lemon juice is naturally acidic. This acidity makes lemon juice a natural disinfectant. Cut a lemon in half and put some salt on it to clean and deodorize your sink. When you’re finished, cut it up and run it through the garbage disposal. Not only will your kitchen sink drain smell fresh and lemony, it will be disinfected as well.
Vinegar is another eco-friendly acidic disinfectant and deodorizer. Pour 1/2 cup of vinegar in the sink drain followed by running hot water for 1 minute. Your drain won’t smell like vinegar, but will be fresh, disinfected and deodorized.
Baking soda is a natural deodorizer. Put a couple teaspoons of baking soda in your kitchen sink drain at least once a week to deodorize it. Pouring vinegar on top of the baking soda will not only deodorize it, the foaming action will help keep your kitchen drain clog-free, too. Let it sit for 5 minutes followed by running hot water for 1 to 2 minutes.
Lemon juice, vinegar and baking soda are all eco-friendly ways to deodorize your kitchen sink drain naturally.
