Most people know that having an ergonomic desk helps reduce stress on your back and other parts of the body. If you spend a lot of time at your desk, follow these simple instructions to turn your ordinary workspace into an ergonomic desk.
- Step 1: Clean and organize your workspace. Many times having a messy desk will make you resort to putting things in places that are inconvenient. An ergonomic desk has all of your day to day items in a reachable spot, and don't forget to check underneath the desk as well.
- Step 2: Place the monitor at least 20 inches away. If the monitor is too close or too far away it will greatly change your posture. An ergonomic desk helps you to not slouch while viewing the screen.
- Step 3: Make sure that all corners by your wrists are rounded or padded. Doing this will help relieve stress on your wrists and fingers from poor posture on the keyboard and mouse pad.
Using Correct Posture at an Ergonomic Desk
Once you've created your ergonomic desk, try to work on posture as well. By straightening your back and lifting your wrists, your back and muscles are put under a lot less stress.
