Paint problems can occur on different surfaces. The solution can be fixed, and always doesn't have to involve completing repainting a surface or area.
Removing Loose Paint
Before you start to repair flaked paint you have to chip more of it away. Use a putty knife to gently scrape off excess paint chips. You will want to achieve a smooth surface.
Apply Spackling Compound
If they painted spots are slightly elevated higher in some places you will want to cover that area with spackling compound. If you are applying to large spots, you will need to use a drywall compound. Next you will want to smooth down the surface as much as possible with a putty knife.
Sand the Surface
The next step in repairing flaked paint is using sandpaper. Use 150-grit sandpaper to smooth out the surface.
You will want to apply primer to the surface of once cracked paint area. Next you can texture the surface and begin to paint a fresh coat over the area. You may want to paint the entire area to blend in all of the colors together.
