February DIM Star: Craftsman End Table

Once a month we like to shine the spotlight on an impressive DIYer by giving their shared project the ol’ “Did It Myself” (DIM) stamp of honor. And, as an added bonus, all DIM Stars are automatically entered into consideration for our first annual DIM Awards in May.

This month we congratulate "the_tow_guy" on their craftsman end table. Share your project and next time it could be you!

What They Did

"The_tow_guy" used a woodworking plan that appeared in Woodsmith magazine No. 127 as a guide for this piece of furniture. The table is made of quarter sawn white oak and is finished with an oil-based stain and wipe-on poly. The spindles on the sides are mortise strips and there's a hidden rear compartment in the back of the pull-out door.

Why We Like It

This DIYer proves that you don't have to head to the furniture or big box store to furnish your house. By utilizing resources like carpentry magazines, you can make a nice piece to proudly display in your home.
