Going Green: How to Fix a Crack in Tempered Shower Glass

What You'll Need
Epoxy resin

If you are unfortunate enough to develop a crack in your tempered shower glass, then it may seem like the only option is to throw the glass away and get a new pane. This can be difficult, as tempered glass is difficult to recycle, and you may also find it hard to get an exact match for your shower glass. There is, however, one thing you can do which will repair the crack, although it will not hide it.

Step 1 - Clean the Glass

Before you do anything else, take the time to clean off the glass thoroughly. This will ensure that you have a good smooth surface to work with. Rinse the glass using a soft cloth, taking care not to cut your hand on the glass.

Step 2 - Apply Epoxy Resin

Go to your local store, and buy some epoxy resin. A quick setting one will be best, and preferably water-proof too. When you are ready, apply this along the line of the crack, taking care to include both beginning and end of the crack in the process. Leave to dry.

Step 3 - Sand Down

Once the epoxy is dry, you can then sand it down to be flat with the edge of the glass, using  small piece of sandpaper.
