Growing A Chinese Fan Palm Indoors Growing A Chinese Fan Palm Indoors
A Chinese fan palm is a great way to decorate your home with a nice, earthy tone that adds color. These trees can grow up to 12 feet in height and can be just as wide as they are tall. While your home is probably not big enough have a plant that large, you can still grow one on a smaller scale that will brighten your home.
What Is Needed To Grow One
As far as temperature, a Chinese fan palm will grow in normal room temperature conditions. It is best to place them in high light areas, but humidity is not a big concern when growing them indoors. Since they need a fair amount of light, it is good to place them beneath a skylight or near your windows. The more light that the palm has, the more water it will require. Be sure to check its water level at least two or three times per week. If there is excess water in the drip tray, a Chinese palm fan will take it up within a few hours, so over watering is usually not a problem.
