Basic Tips for Installing a Ceiling Fan on a Vaulted Ceiling

Step 1- Shut of the Electricity

Before installing a ceiling fan on your vaulted ceiling, make sure that the circuit breaker is turned off.

Step 2 - Find a Spot to Place the Fan

Locate a ceiling joist to which you can attach the fan. Cut a portion of the drywall ceiling to accommodate the electrical box of the fan. A down rod is attached to the electrical box once it is fastened.

Step 3 - Attach the Wiring

Wiring coming from the box will then be routed through the down rod and out the bottom. The motor of the fan should then be secured to the down rod. Attach all wiring to it. Attach the blades of the fan and turn it on. Make sure that the blades are low enough so as not to hit the vaulted ceiling.
