If mildew is growing on wicker furniture, it is important to clean mildew off as soon as possible. First, use a vacuum cleaner to get the dust off the furniture, as well as any other loose particles. Make a mixture of bleach and water in a bowl and remember to wear gloves while doing this to prevent damaging your skin. Dip a soft bristle brush in the solution and rub it over the mildew on the furniture and, once all the mildew has been removed, leave it to dry. The wicker must be thoroughly dried before use, otherwise it will encourage mildew growth again. Ideal drying conditions are placing the chair outside on a warm windy day or recreating this effect manually with heating fans.
