How do I frame a carport roof?
Start to build a carport roof by measuring and marking the corners. These should be 16 feet apart. Dig 3-foot footer holes at those locations, fill with concrete and add the recommended water amount. Use one bag of concrete per hole. Allow this to set for 24 hours. Securely attach two 12-foot studs with a 16-foot board. Repeat this with two 10-foot studs. Raise these assemblies into place in their footers and connect them with 16-foot boards at the sides. Secure aluminum siding to the frame, using weather stripping on the raised inside edge. Repeat across the roof, overlapping the siding and screwing to the frame at 4-inch intervals. Add two bags of concrete and water around the studs in the footer holes and allow to set.
