How do I get glitter wall paint off my walls?

Glitter wall paint is actually paint that has had tiny bits of granite added to it for a glitter look. It is popular in children's rooms and where an ethereal effect is desired. If you wish to remove it you have a bit of work in store.

Glitter wall paint can be removed by sanding the walls using an electric sander. This is a dusty, messy job that will take a great deal of time.

• Start by getting a respirator mask, safety glasses and your sanding tools (get medium grade sandpaper).
• Seal off all the adjacent rooms and make sure any children or pets are clear of the area.
• Remove all furniture, rugs and curtains from the room. If desired, put down plastic sheeting.
• Once you're finished sanding, use a vacuum cleaner to remove the paint and sawdust.
