How do I get water out of my distributor cap?
The primary reason water gets into your distributor cap, is because there's crack in the ceramic or ABS material that you can't see. Or the gasket used in the cap breaks down. To see if your distributor cap has a crack, try this test: disconnect all the wires, and in a completely dark garage, shine a bright flashlight through the cap. If there's a crack, it will show up as quickly as the light going on. The best way to get the water out is to obtain a new distributor cap. Be sure that this wire is solid and not spongy, as this can derail a lot of the high voltage you need to make your distributor work correctly.
