Using nails or screws to attach crown molding to a concrete wall may increase the potential for damage. Using a construction adhesive, such as Liquid Nails, is a more suitable installation method. Since the adhesive can tend to dry quickly and make adjustments difficult, it may be necessary to make a temporary ledge on which to rest the molding. This should be nailed in place level with the desired location of the molding’s bottom edge. Rest the molding on this ledge, apply the adhesive and slip the molding quickly into place. Some experts recommend pre-drilling the molding and countersinking concrete screws every few feet in conjunction with the construction adhesive application.
