Radiator Valve

A radiator valve is a non-electric form of heating. The way a radiator valve works is by either allowing or removing the amount of steam flow throughout the boiler into the radiator.

The Design of a Radiator Valve

The valve is complex system of which the device is connected to a mechanical actuator. The actuator is a wax plug which is hooked on to a metal pin which is all enclosed inside a plastic case. The pin is triggered when the valve is moved because it is liked to the rest of the mechanics.

Purpose of Radiator Valve

The plug inside the valve increases in size when the heat goes higher inside a room. Since the valve has a linkage to the rest of the mechanism, the plug will push down onto the pin closing the valve so no more steam goes to the radiator. When the heat decreases in a room the plug will be smaller and will allow more steam to the radiator.
