How Often Do I Water Cucumber Plants?

Cucumber plants have very short root systems, which makes irrigation difficult. They require a lot of water to grow properly. When the temperature is above 90 degrees, it is recommended that you water cucumber plants twice a day. If your temperatures do not reach this high, then once a day if sufficient. Water them early in the morning and/or in the evening, when they are not getting full sun. Watering during the hottest part of the day can cause cucumbers to wilt.

Water for several minutes each time. Keep an eye out for the plants turning yellow. This is a sign that they may not be getting enough water.
