How Often Should Exterior Paint Be Reapplied to Stucco?
Exterior paint for stucco is a high grade paint that will seal the pores of the stucco. Under a microscope, stucco looks similar to a honey comb. This requires that it is properly sealed, in order to alleviate moisture problems that can damage the wood behind the stucco, causing structural damage, or have moisture seep through to the interior of your home. You need to inspect your stucco on a yearly basis in order to determine when it needs repainted. If you notice that the paint is starting to peel, it is time to reapply to avoid moisture damage.
