Whenever you install your screen door, you probably are not aware that the door height is something that you can actually adjust and may need to adjust. This is something that you are going to need to make sure that you are careful with so that you can make your screen door last for years to come. You will also be able to get your screen door to open and close with ease.

Step 1 – Find the Problem
Whenever you notice that your screen door is not moving the way it should, you will find that there are a number of things that may be wrong with it. If it has to do with how the door shuts or opens, then it is more than likely a height issue that you are going to have to work on. Whenever you slide the door open or shut, look at the track as well as the wheels. See if there are breaks or any spaces as it rolls. If this is the case, then you will need to fix the height. 
Step 2 – Screws
There will be adjusting screws that you are going to have to find in order to successfully adjust the height for your door. Adjusting the screws is the easy part, it’s just the finding them that can be a hassle. You will find that on a lot of models that the adjusting screws are along the wheel assembly. Usually, you will be able to find these screws on either side of your wheel assembly. If there is a top wheel assembly, then these screws will not have to be adjusted. There are a few types of wheel assemblies that actually will have a type of a cover that can be removed easily. You can do this by simply prying it from the door frame of your screen door. 
Step 3 – Height Adjustment
You will find that when it comes to actually making the adjustments, it is mainly a matter of trial and error. You will need to adjust them one way and see if it is doing the job right, if it is not, then they will need to be adjusted the other way. You will need to continue to adjust them until you notice that the door does not have any issues with opening or closing. You will find that whenever you turn your screws clockwise that the door will become taller. If you turn it counterclockwise, then the door will become shorter. Work on the height until you can get your door to open and shut with ease. If you turn your screws too far counterclockwise, then your screen door will eventually fall out. It is important to go slow and do just a little bit at a time. This may take you a little bit longer, but it will ensure that you are able to get your screen door at the exact right height that it should be at.
