How to Attach Fiberglass Window Boxes How to Attach Fiberglass Window Boxes

What You'll Need
Window boxes
Socket wrench
"L" brackets
Lag screws

Attaching fiberglass window boxes is a pretty simple process to go through, so once you have the boxes you can get started. Here are a few materials that you will need, along with some steps that can help you through the process.

Step 1 - Mark the Spot

Have a partner hold up the box where you want it to go. Then, carefully draw underneath it to mark the spot where the "L" brackets will go.

Step 2 - Drill

Hold up the "L" bracket where you penciled in the mark. You will be able to drill holes using the "L" bracket for guidance.

Step 3 - Secure

Now, attach the anchors and lag screws into the holes so that they are holding up and securing in the "L" brackets. They should be tight and on straight. Putting a level on the "L" brackets could help you to see that the window will be straight when you put it on there. Then you can put the fiberglass window boxes in place where you have the "L" brackets. Use a socket wrench to tighten anything that needs to be secured more and level the boxes out.
