Step 1 – Prepare
The first thing that you are going to have to do is think about how much money it is that you are wanting to spend on this project. You will find that what all you do with your pool will more than likely have to do with how much you can afford. Make sure that you know how much you can spend and how much you are going to spend. You do not want to no longer be able to finance your pool when it is only half way done. You will also need to make sure that you prepare yourself for the additional supplies once the pool is built, the necessary supplies to keep it running and clean as well as a cover for winter time. You will also need to contact the local building department in your area.
Step 2 – Recruit
The best thing that you can do is begin to ask family and friends if they are willing to help you build this pool. The more people that you have helping, the easier the project will be and the faster it will go. Make sure that they know the work that will be involved with this.
Step 3 – In Ground Pool Kit
An in ground pool kit is something that you are going to have to purchase first. Make sure that you do your research and that you know all about the type that you choose. As you are looking over the pool kits, make sure that you know what your layout is going to be. Think about the shape and size of your yard and what layout will work best with it. This will help you to get a better idea of what in ground pool kit you should choose.
Step 4 – Form
It is a good idea for you to go ahead and begin to shape the form as soon as you know what your layout is going to be. In order to do this, you will need to get your stakes and your string out and measure out the length and width of your pool. Make sure that you get the dimensions right so that it will make excavating easier.
Step 5 – Excavation
You can hire somebody to do this for you or you can do it yourself but it is a lot of work and is something that a professional is usually best suited for. If you do it yourself, make sure that you are aware of any pipes that are in your yard.
