Building a plastic work table is an easy job that will only require a few materials and tools. Plastic work tables are light weight and can be easily moved from one location to another. They can also be sturdy, and made to fit any workspace. Here's how you can create your own plastic work table.
Step 1: Everything Together
You will want to make sure that your work space is large enough so you are able to move the pieces around in it easily without bumping into anything. This is because you will have a large work bench once completed depending on the size of the plastic that you purchased. Normally work benches are around 6 feet long since it provides the worker with adequate space to work on. The choice is yours when you go to choose the plastic. You will want to grab plastic screws to hold the plastic together to ensure you have a sturdy table to work on.
Step 2: Assembly
Grab the large piece of sturdy plastic for the top of the table, you will want to make sure it has no cracks; this is because this could break easily if you were to screw the screws into it. It should be a free of any damage. Once you have the table out, you will want to flip it over to show what you would like to be the bottom of the table. If you bought plastic rods for the legs of the table, you might want to cut them down to a length that is suitable for you if you were not able to buy them in the length you needed using a circular saw. You will then want to apply a small amount of the plastic adhesive glue to each of the rods. This is to ensure they will stay on until it comes time to drill the screws in. Once you have all the legs in place, you will then want to allow the glue to dry.
Step 3: Finishing Touches
Once the glue has dried, you can then flip the table over, screw the legs into the table from the top of the table. Ensure that you are screwing into the legs, and not beside them. Screw in all four of the legs tightly. You can then do a wobble test to see if the table is sturdy or if the screws need to be tightened more to ensure that it is stable enough to work on, no matter what you are doing on it. Once all of these steps are completed, then you are all set to start using your new work table for whatever you would like too. This is one of the easiest tables to assemble, and if you would like to build a wood one, they can become easy as well. The plastic tables also come pre-made at stores as well if you feel you are not equipped enough to make one at home yourself.
