If you are having some trouble with your pressure washer pump, then you may choose to check the oil levels inside. The oil levels can affect the way the pressure washer pump behaves, and if the oil levels are too low, then you will need to boost them in order to get the most efficient results for your pump. Checking the oil levels in your pressure washer pump is not difficult, and you should be able to manage this in a few hours.
Step 1 - Work out the Right Levels
Start by reading your pressure washer pump owner's manual and finding out the right level of oil for your particular machine. This will differ depending upon the particular type of pump that you have, so relying on the owner's manual is the only way to find out for sure.
Step 2 - Check the Oil Levels
Go to your pump and find your viewing glass on the pump. The owner's manual should tell you where this is. On the glass viewer, there should be a small red dot directly in the center, or two parallel lines, rather like those on a spirit level. The oil should be up to this level, or between the parallel lines.
