Step 1 - Wipe it Down

Dirt and grime are often found on old brass objects. In order to get the best clean and polish out of the brass cash register, you first have to remove layers of dirt and grime. Dampen a cloth with warm water and add to it a little dish detergent. Wipe down the cash register to clean away the dirt. Dry the register with another towel.

Step 2 - Apply Brass Cleaner

Pour small amounts of brass cleaner on a towel and rub it all over the brass cash register. Use the toothbrush to get the brass cleaner in the small and tight areas of the register. Wipe away the brass cleaner with a fresh towel.

Step 3 - Buff It

Use a fresh towel to buff the brass cash register until it has a burnished finish.
