If your charcoal filter is in need of thorough cleaning, you're probably wondering how to go about administering one. If so, you're in luck, because this article will teach you everything you'll need to know about cleaning charcoal filters.

Step 1 - Prep Your Cleaning Mixture

Begin this step by pouring one cup of dishwashing soap into a clean bucket. Next, fill the bucket with warm water and allow your cleaning mixture to form.

Step 2 - Begin Cleaning Your Charcoal Filter

Now that your cleaning mixture is complete, place your dirty charcoal filter in the bucket and allow it to soak for about 20 minutes. While the filter is soaking, feel free to shake it a bit in order to expel any caked-on dirt. After the filter has been shaken and allowed to soak, you will be ready to proceed with the next step.

Step 3 - Apply Your Finishing Touches

Having sufficiently cleaned your dirty charcoal filter, you may now remove it from the bucket and rinse it off with warm water. Once the filter has been thoroughly rinsed, lay it on a towel that has been placed atop a flat surface and allow it to fully dry off.
