How to Clean Chrome Cabinet Hardware How to Clean Chrome Cabinet Hardware
Chrome cabinet hardware can add a beautiful touch to any kitchen or bathroom. The problem with chrome is it will show fingerprints, and is susceptible to rust with excess moisture. Keeping the hardware clean is simple though.
Step 1 - Try Cola
Brown cola has been used for decades to remove debris and dirt. You can bring this concept indoors as long as you rinse it well. Simply pour a small amount of cola on a clean cloth, and run the cloth over the hardware. Rinse it with water to prevent the cola from becoming sticky later.
Step 2 - Vinegar and Baking Soda
If you don't want to use cola, or the cola didn't clean everything, you can mix a solution of baking soda and vinegar. Start with about 3 tablespoons of baking soda, and slowly add the vinegar. It will foam and bubble, then create a paste. Apply the paste on the hardware in a circular motion.
Step 3 - Finishing Up
Allow this to sit on the hardware for a few minutes, then rinse it away. Follow up with a dry soft cloth to shine the chrome.
