If your home's kitchen features any limestone countertops, it is important that you give them regular cleanings in order to keep them in prime condition. Below are the easy-to-follow steps you will need to utilize in order to successfully clean your limestone countertops.

Step 1 - Give the Countertops a Preliminary Wiping

Begin cleaning your limestone countertops by wiping them down with a dampened washcloth in order to get rid of any light dust or debris. In fact, if your countertops aren't particularly dirty, this may be the only step you will need to perform in order to sufficiently clean them.

Step 2 - Apply Your Cleaner

You will now need to apply your cleaning solution of choice. Alternatively, if you don't have any commercial stone cleaner on hand, you can make your own limestone cleaner by combining warm water with several small drops of a mild liquid soap in an empty spray bottle. Using harsh soaps or detergents on limestone stands to damage it, so make sure to the soap is mild.

Once your cleaner has been applied, use a clean cloth to vigorously wipe the countertops in broad circular motions. Continue in this fashion until the countertops are completely filth-free.

Step 3 - Apply Your Finishing Touches

Having cleaned your countertops, spray them down with a warm water-filled spray bottle and use a clean cloth to give them another thorough wiping. This will remove any remaining traces of your cleaner.
