How to Clean Your Sunglasses How to Clean Your Sunglasses

Now that you’ve invested money on your stylish new sunglasses, it’s time to learn how to care for and clean them. Sometimes you can’t get those trouble spots off of your lenses, but it’s possible to harm them with harsh chemicals. Keep reading for some basic ways to clean up your sunglasses.

Lenses

To clean off your lenses, the old trick of blowing hot air onto them and wiping them with a soft cloth will definitely work well without harming your glasses. Simply repeat the process until the spots disappear and be sure to clean on both sides. If you are dealing with stains on the lenses from grease or other harmful materials, you can submerge the glasses in a sink of warm water with a few drops of liquid dish soap and wipe the lenses clean. Be sure to dry the glasses well and be sure there isn’t any soap remaining on them.

Nose Pads

For the tight spots around the nose pads, you can soak the glasses in some warm water for a few hours and brush the dirt away with a small brush like a toothbrush.

Frames

You can use the warm water technique to clean the frames as well, but you should know that pressing up against the skin over and over will cause a green tint. Try to wear the glasses up on your nose so the frames stay off of your skin.
