Step 1 - Take the Necessary Safety Precautions
Before attempting to hook up your new karaoke machine, you'll need to make sure that the machine and the device to which you wish to connect it are safely turned off. If you want to be extra cautious, turn off all of your home entertainment center's components and feel free to unplug them, too. When working with electronics, personal safety should always be at the very top of your priority list, so take care not to skip this crucial step. Step 2 - Begin Connecting Your Machine to Your Television
Begin this step by taking out the audio and video patch cords that were included with your machine. These cords should be colored coded, with the red and white cords representing video and the yellow cord representing audio. Carefully place the red, white and yellow cords in the audio and video plug-in ports found on the back ends of your karaoke machine and television. These patch cords will help ensure that the machine's sound comes through clearly and the song lyrics are properly displayed on your television screen.
