If you want to transition from copper pipe to PVC pipe, you want to do it without welding the two together and this article will show you how.

Step 1 - Attach Male Adapter

Remove the copper pipe you want to transition to PVC pipe. Wrap Teflon tape around the end and place the male adapter over it using a wrench to tighten it.

Step 2 - Attach Female Adapter

Use the emery board to polish the copper pipe. This will help the connection between the PVC pipe and the copper. Wrap Teflon tape around the threads of the male adapter. Attach the female adapter using the wrench to tighten the connection.

Step 3 - Seal the Pipe

Apply PVC pipe cement around the joint and wait for it to dry then apply PVC purple primer. After this compound has dried place aluminum tape around the entire section.
