Step 1 – Preparing the Space
The first thing you need to do is to empty and clean the garage. You cannot do anything if the space is full of clutter and is dirty. You should also determine the amount of space you will dedicate to the new home gym you are creating. Get rid of the things you do not want and make sure that you organize the things you are keeping; leaving the space clean and open enough for the equipment you will be buying.

There are many options, but the best choices are the elliptical machine, the treadmill, the stepper and the stationary bike. Keep in mind that most of these pieces can be fold up, so you can push them out of the way when you are not using them. You should also buy some dumbbells for strength-building workouts or even a weight bench if you have enough space.
Step 5 – Organize the Space
The last thing you need to do is organize your space; install cabinets or shelves if necessary and put mirrors around so that you can monitor your workout while lifting weights. You will also need drawers for the dumbbells and the CDs you might be using while working out.
