How to Cut Cabinet Crown Molding
Installing cabinet crown molding is a great way to add flair to a kitchen. When you install crown molding, you will have to make sure that you cut it correctly. Here are the basics of how to cut cabinet crown molding effectively.
Step 1 - Get the Dimension
Start out by taking your tape measure and getting the dimension of the cabinet where you plan on installing the molding. Make sure that you take very detailed measurements as even being off by a fraction of an inch will make a big difference. Once you have determined where the molding needs to be cut, mark it with a pencil.
Step 2 - Find the Angle
You will need to determine the angle at which you need to cut the molding. In most cases, this will simply be a 45 degree angle because most cabinets are square. However, if you have cabinets with more complex angles, you will need to use an angle finder to get the appropriate angle.
Step 3 - Cut the Molding
Once you have determined the angle, use a miter saw to make the cut on the molding. Make sure that you hold the molding firmly under the saw and then make a solid cut.
