How to Cut Polycarbonate Panels How to Cut Polycarbonate Panels

What You'll Need
Power Saw or Table Saw

Polycarbonate panels are often used to make different things around the house because of its characteristics of being durable, light and not shattering as easily as glass. For all these qualities, polycarbonate does scratch easily, so you’ll have to be cautious when working with it. The most popular polycarbonate that is sold in the market is the Lexan brand.

Step 1 – Test the Cut

Before you cut a huge chunk of your polycarbonate panel, make sure to do a test cut first. Using an excess piece of polycarbonate, cut it using your table saw or power saw. If the cuts are to your liking, you may carry on with cutting the actual polycarbonate panel.

Step 2 – Modify the Saw

On the other hand, if you aren’t happy with the test cut you can always modify your saw. Adjust the blade in a manner that the word side is facing the opposite side.

Step 3 – Prepare the Panels

Draw a line in your panel to mark the sections that you will be cutting off. Cut through that line carefully with the use of your power saw.
