How to De-Lime a Toilet Jet Hole

What You'll Need
Coat hanger or wire about that size
Lime removing cleaner
Small stiff brush

If your toilet is flushing or filling slowly, a toilet jet hole in the rim of the bowl may be clogged or partially clogged. This is a simple project for a do-it-yourselfer.

Step 1: Remove Water

Turn the water supply off to your toilet and flush twice to remove all the water from the bowl. Inspect all the jet holes in the toilet rim while you are doing this procedure, so you won't have to repeat it if another clog occurs.

Step 2: Removing Lime

Squirt a bit of the lime removing cleaner into and around the toilet jet holes. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes then use the stiff brush to clean out the hole. Pour a bit of water over the area to rinse it off. If more lime remains, repeat this step.

Step 3: Test Flush

Turn the water supply to the toilet back on and allow the tank to fill. Flush the toilet and watch carefully to see if it is flushing properly. If there are still problems, you can repeat the above steps.
