How to Find a Strong and Sturdy Trash Bag
Finding a good, strong trash bag isn't as easy as it might seem. With all the various brands, generics versus brand-name, clear versus black, regular versus stretchable, it might seem like a lot to sift through. With a small basis of knowledge to go on, however, you can be assured your garbage won't spill out on the ground.
Brand Name vs. Generic
One of the quickest ways to decide if a trash bag is strong is what brand-name it is. Generics are cheaper because they use flimsier materials and fewer amounts of them, whereas brand-names like Hefty or Glad are made to higher quality and weight standards.
Stretchable vs. Regular
Some of the strongest trash bags on the market are made using patented stretchable materials. Look for textured bags that have the word "Stretches" on the box.
Industrial vs. Home
Factories and garages dispose of much heavier waste than the average home. Depending on how much and how heavy your garbage is, look for industrial-strength bags. These are made to weight standards above most home trash bags.
Black vs. Clear
One of the easiest ways to choose a strong trash bag is to pick a solid black one. Clear bags are usually weaker and will rip open easily.
