How to Finish the Ends of a Travertine Tile Backsplash How to Finish the Ends of a Travertine Tile Backsplash

Installing a travertine tile backsplash can provide you with a very beautiful focal point for your kitchen area. People love the look that travertine provides. However, one common problem that people run into with travertine backsplashes is figuring out how to finish them off. Finishing the ends of the backsplash will make it look professional. Here are a few options for finishing off the edges of your travertine tile backsplash.

Travertine Bullnose

Perhaps the best option for finishing off a travertine tile backsplash is bullnose. Bullnose is a material that is made out of the same material as the tile, however it comes to a point on one end. This creates a gradual end to the space and makes it look finished. You should be able to order this from the same place that you got your tile.

Decorative Border

Another option that you have is to use a decorative border. This may or may not be made out of travertine. Border pieces are usually long and skinny and you put them around the outside of the travertine. They will usually have some sort of a design or contrasting element to the rest of the backsplash.
