Transmission fluid is red in color, and it has a tendency to leave behind very hard stains on clothes. However, you can remove stains that have been caused by transmission fluid. Here's how you can get transmission fluid off your clothes.

Step 1 – Testing

Before you use the lighter fluid on the whole article of clothing, try to run it on a test zone. After applying the lighter fluid, if the color doesn't run from you fabric then you can use it to remove the transmission fluid stain.

Step 2 – Application

Apply the lighter fluid on the area stained by the transmission fluid. It would be advisable to carry out this process in an open area.

Step 3 – Scrub

Scrub the area with a soft cloth. Be gentle while working on the stained fabric. The transmission fluid stain can be stubborn, however, so some scrubbing is required.

Step 4 – Wash

Now toss the stained clothing into the washing machine. If possible, soak it in hot water prior to tossing it in the washer. Once the machine has finished washing, let the garment dry. The transmission stain should be taken care of.
