Vinyl fascia board helps protect your roof from rain, snow, and strong winds. When attaching them to roofs with steeper pitches, it can be challenging to seal them completely, so there are a few installation tips to keep in mind.

Step 1 -- Measure for Fascia Board Size

Start by measuring the length of your roof area where you will be hanging the fascia board. If possible, install one solid piece of vinyl fascia board over as much of the roof area as you can. This way, there will be fewer chances of leaks that can happen when several smaller pieces are installed against one another.

Step 2 -- Cut Fascia Board to Fit

Cut out the length of fascia board you need, based on your measurements from step 1. You may need a non-standard saw blade to cut through vinyl fascia, so it is a good idea to ask the hardware retailer about the recommended saw blades before purchasing the vinyl fascia boards.

Step 3 -- Secure Fasica Board

Setup ladders underneath where you will be installing the fascia board so you and your helper can easily lift one end of the board to the roof. Take turns securing either end to the roof with the cordless drill and screws.
