Aluminum fascia boards are placed on the edges of your roof in order to prevent water from seeping into the rafters and preventing damage. However, you must install them properly in order to ensure that the seal it creates is sufficient to keep the water out.

Step 1: Planning
Make a sketch of your roof and plan how you want to hang your aluminum fascia. Do this in order to maximize the aluminum and avoid wasting it by cutting the wrong measurements. Most of the time, you may be able to do an entire side with one sheet of aluminum.
Step 2: Prepping the Aluminum
Drill holes on the top and bottom portions of the aluminum sheet. These are where the screws will go. Spare the holes about 6 inches apart. Make certain that the soffit has been installed in the underside of your roof before hanging your aluminum fascia. If not, install it first before you proceed.
Step 3: Attaching the Aluminum Fascia
Get a friend to help you out with the installation. Get two ladders and position them in front of the side of the roof you are installing the fascia. Place a ladder on one end and another ladder about 3/4 the way. Spread the aluminum and press it on your roof’s drip edge and wrap and hook it underneath the soffit. Place some screws on the holes and secure the aluminum fascia.
