Install a bath cabinet vanity if you want to remodel your bathroom and add storage space. It will update the appearance of your bathroom. Follow these steps to install a bath cabinet vanity.

Measure the Width and Height of the New Vanity

Determine the position for the vanity. Mark the edge locations based on your preferred position with vertical lines. Then mark and measure the height of the vanity from the floor. Draw a straight line from the highest mark. Combine it with the vertical lines. The lines will be the appropriate outline to place the vanity.

Install the New Bath Cabinet Vanity

Gauge the locations of the drain lines and the water pipes. Transfer the measurements onto the back of the vanity. Use a saw drill to make holes for the water lines. Cut the drain using a saw. Make sure there is a stud in the wall behind the new vanity. Measure the area and mark it on the vanity nailer. Make a pilot hole so the three-inch screw can hold the vanity in position.

Install the New Bath Cabinet Vanity

Minimize the possible damages by removing any doors and drawers from the cabinet first. The vanity will be easier to remove if you do so. Protect the floors while you’re moving the vanity to its proper position. Slide the vanity in position with the drain and water pipes from the hole. Ensure the vanity cabinet is level from back to front and side to side. If necessary, use shims to level the vanity. Attach the vanity to the wall by using three-inch screws.

Install the Sink and the Countertop

If there’s a molded or built-in sink in the new vanity, install the faucet before putting the countertop in position. Put the faucet into the precut hole. Tighten the hole manually. Use a wrench to tighten the vanity countertop once you’ve turned it over. Connect a flexible water supply line into the faucet’s base. Attach the tailpipe into the sink drain. Then spread silicone caulk around the countertop’s edge. Flip the countertop and position it onto the vanity. The backsplash must be tight against the wall.

Final Steps

Connect the bendable feed lines into the water supply valves. Attach the sink tailpiece to the trap. Let it drain. Apply a small amount of caulk around the faucet’s base where the countertop rams against the backsplash. Install the moldings around the vanity’s base. Run the water to test for leaks.
