Temperature Gauge

A PEX temperature gauge is basically a flat piece of metal that has some cut outs on either side. PEX plumbing is a new and ground breaking way to install plumbing in both commercial and residential areas. You will find that installing this gauge is something that is very easy to do. As long as you have the proper tools and know how, you will be able to install this gauge in very little time using very little effort.

Step 1 - Crimp Ring

You will need to begin by getting your crimp ring placed over your PEX tubing. Once you have done this, you will need to get a PEX fitting inserted into place. Make sure that it fits properly before you move on to the next step. You will slide your crimp ring to the point where it is about a 1/8 of an inch from the end of your tubing. You want it to be right next to your PEX fitting.

Step 2 - Crimp

A PEX crimper is going to be needed so that you can get the ring crimped into place. The ring will need to be placed directly over your PEX tubing. You will find that most crimpers and gauges are sold together. This will help to make sure that the crimper that you get and the gauge that you get will work well together. If the crimper and the gauge are not meant for the other then you will not be able to crimp your ring properly.

Step 3 - Slide

Your gauge is now ready to be slid over the ring. If you have a Go-Nogo gauge, then you will need to slide the side of the gauge that is the ?oGo side over your crimped ring. As long as the crimp is made the way it should be and goes with the gauge, there will be no issues whenever you are passing your ring over it. You are now ready to slide the other part of the gauge over the crimp ring. You will need to make sure that the crimp ring is unable to go into the gauge at any point on the opposite side of the gauge.

Step 4 - Cut

If you happen to notice that the crimp ring is unable to pass either of the tests, then you will simply need to get a PEX fitting cut out. You will replace this newly cut piece with a new crimp ring. You will need to make sure that the new crimp ring that you choose is one that is different than the previous one. Bring it in with you and make sure to compare the 2 together so that you will know for sure that they are made for the other bef
