Installing bifold door hardware is generally the most challenging aspect of installing a bifold door. Still, it can be done with a little persistence and double-checking as you go.

Step 1 - Add Hinges

If you’re lucky, the kit you chose for your bifold doors comes with the doors already attached at the hinges. If not, you need to measure and align them yourself. Be sure to paint or finish the doors before you begin.

Label the doors so you know which goes in which position. Measure 11 inches from the bottom and 7 inches from the top. The third hinge is centered between the other two. Be sure to line up the hinges on each door.

Step 2 - Track Hardware

Look at the kit instructions for measurements regarding track hardware. Be sure to measure it and don’t install the track hardware backward.

Step 3 - Install the Track

Measure 1 inch back from the header, and install the track. Use a level to keep it even, and leave the screws loose until you’ve completed installation.

Step 4 - Floor Bracket

Position the floor bracket directly under the center of the upper track. Use a plumb line to keep things straight, and trace around the bracket for future use.

Step 5 - Hang the Door

Position the door into the top bracket and tighten, then put the bottom pin into the bracket. Using a flexible bit, attach the floor bracket securely.
