How to Install LED Gazebo Lights How to Install LED Gazebo Lights
Good lighting is very important in creating the right atmosphere, so make sure that you install the right type of gazebo lights to create the right ambiance for your gazebo. To make your gazebo look really lovely at night, you should install LED lights. The good thing about LED lights is that they come in all shapes, shades and sizes, so you can easily find something that suits your taste. Moreover, LED lights are very energy efficient, so even if you turn your lights on for several hours during the night, your energy consumption will not be very high.
Installing LED gazebo lights is relatively easy, and you can do this on your own, provided that you have the right tools. To help you install your gazebo lights, follow these simple steps.
Step 1 – Survey the Gazebo
Before you install lights in your gazebo, you need to check the structure first and determine where you want the lights. If you have a small gazebo, one of two lights will do, but if you have a larger one, you may need more lights. The layout, colors and types of furnishing inside your gazebo should be taken into consideration when you choose the kind of LED lights that you want to install.
Step 2 – Mark the Locations Where You Want to Install the Lights
You need to mark the locations where you want to install the lights, and then measure the length between this place and the power source for the lights. This will give you an idea as to how much electrical wiring you need to get the job done.
Step 3 – Make Room for the Wires
If you have an open gazebo, you will need pipes to hold electrical wires for your lights. You may embed these pipes on the posts, walls or floor of your gazebo later on so that they will not stick out like sore thumbs and make your gazebo look ugly.
Step 4 – Install the Lights
Install sockets for your light bulbs on the marked areas in the gazebo by splicing the wires and connecting the exposed end of the wires to the back of the light bulb sockets. Screw the sockets into place, and then insert the light bulbs into the sockets. Turn the bulbs clockwise to tighten them.
Step 5 – Tap the Wires to the Power Source
Before you tap the wires into the power source, make sure that you turn off the circuit breakers. Once the circuits are off, feed the wires into the junction box and make sure that the wires are securely tapped into the power source. Remember that loose contacts between the wires and the power source will cause your lights to malfunction so make sure that everything is in their proper places. After securely tapping the wires into the power source, check the wires for any exposed areas. Wrap all exposed wired with electrical tape to avoid accidents.
