Marble bathroom countertops come in various textures and color tones. They are fairly easy to install, and you will be very happy with the result.

Step 1 - Take Proper Measurements

Measure the area in which you want to install the counter top. Record both the length and width.

Step 2 - Choose the Sink

You have several choices for the sink. You can either choose a sink separately, or order a marble countertop with the sink pre-molded. This type of top is a good idea as you only have the 1 installation to complete.

Marble countertops are available at at home improvement stores. It all depends on the size of countertop you need. If it it is an unusual size, then you will have to order a custom design.

Step 3 - Remove Old Countertop

Move the old countertop once the new unit has arrived. Removing the old top is fairly easy. They usually are installed with bolts under the top which can be loosened, then the grouting around the top can be loosened with a hammer.

Step 4 - Attach New Countertop

Your new marble countertop will be heavy, so it is a good idea to have another person help you lift it into place. It is a good idea to use a glue made of silicone. Apply glue all around the frame of the structure. Ensure that it fits snugly; otherwise, you might have to trim other excess marble with a sander to do this. Make sure the marble countertop is level with no gaps before proceeding.

Step 5 - Attach the Backsplash

Glue the backsplash to the back wall using the same silicone adhesive that you used to glue the marble countertop. These silicone adhesives come in different colors to match the color of the marble. Make sure the area is clean of any dust or dirt before applying the glue.

Step 6 - Let the Countertop Sit

Do not use the countertop for 8 hours after installing it so that it can properly settle.

Step 7 - Cleaning and Maintenance

Cleaning marble countertops is easy. Use a specialty cleaner to avoid causing scratches or other damage.
