Installing marble wall tile is a job that requires extreme patience and attention to detail. Installing marble wall tile can dramatically improve the look of any area. Here are the basics of how to install marble wall tiles on concrete.

Step 1: Measure the Area

Start out by measuring the area. Get the height and width and then multiply them together. This is going to give you the exact square footage of the space. You will then need to add about 10 percent to that number so that you will have enough for waste.

Step 2: Layout

You will then need to spend some time thinking about how you are going to lay out your tile. You want to do this before you get started installing the job so that you do not have to go back and correct any mistakes. You will want to determine the center point of each direction. Then use your chalk line to snap a line in both directions. This is going to give you a guideline to work with when you are laying. With the horizontal line, you are going to want to make sure to use your level so that it is completely level. Then lay out your tile on the ground in front of the area so that you can see how it is going to look.

Step 3: Laying the Tile

It is now time to start installing the marble tile. When you do this, you want to make sure that you have the proper type of adhesive. They make in adhesive that is specifically designed to use on marble. You can use this or white thinset for marble applications. Spread out some of the adhesive on the wall with your trowel. You are going to want to spread the adhesive out evenly so that you see ridges in it. Then place one of the tiles in the adhesive and give it a slight twist. This is going to allow it to stick into the adhesive better. Hold it on the wall for a few seconds to make sure that it is going to stick. Then put tile spacers around the corners of the marble tile. Get a second tile and push it up against the tile spacers from the first tile. Make sure that it is down into the adhesive and then put tile spacers around it as well. Continue laying tiles in this manner.

Step 4: Making Cuts

When you get to the edge of a wall, you are going to need to make a cut. Use your wet saw to make a clean cut on the marble so that it will not break or chip.

Step 5: Grout

After you have installed the tile, you need to let it dry overnight. Then you can start grouting the tile. You can apply the grout with a grout float. After the grout is in the joints, you can clean the marble tile with a sponge and some water. Then let the grout dry overnight.
